**Skills Verification: Demonstrating proficiency in: Readiness Assessment & Development, Target Sequence Planning, Reprocessing with Complex Developmental Trauma. Skills are assessed through a case presentation and video review. Skills Verification must be completed and documented by a Precision EMDR™ Consultant.

When is "EMDR Certified" really Certified?
If a program says they offer EMDR Certification, it’s legitimate certification.
EMDRIA Certification is the gold standard, issued by the EMDR International Association—the official governing body of EMDR training requirements.
Are all EMDR Trainings equal?
All EMDR Basic Trainings are equivalent and interchangeable - especially those that are EMDRIA-Approved.
Basic Trainings that are not EMDRIA-Approved leave you vulnerable to liability and do not qualify you for EMDRIA Certification or Advanced EMDR Trainings.
Are all EMDRIA-Approved Trainings equal?
All EMDRIA-Approved Basic Trainings are equivalent and interchangeable.

What does it take to become EMDRIA Certified?
Completing an EMDRIA-Approved Basic Training makes you an EMDR Certified Therapist.
EMDRIA Certification requires: EMDRIA-Approved Basic Training + 12 hours of Advanced EMDR Training + 20 hours of EMDRIA-Approved Consultation.
Do the 10 EMDR Basic Training Consultation hours count?
The 10 hours of Consultation during EMDR Basic Training count toward the 20 hours required for Certification.
EMDRIA Certification requires an additional 20 hours of Consultation—10 of which may be completed in Group format.
Isn't EMDR Basic Training enough?
Certification isn’t really necessary because Basic EMDR Training is sufficient.
Basic Training allows you to provide EMDR as an EMDR Trained Therapist—but proficiency in EMDR skills and applying them to real-life complexity requires more.
Does it matter who provides your Consultation?
Any EMDRIA-Approved Consultant will do.
